"Re-Inventing the West" -- and writing about it.

On July 22 and 29, the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art will offer a free two-part workshop focused on its new exhibit about the West.  Instructors Amy Silverman and Deborah Sussman Susser and students will tour the exhibit with curator Claire Carter, then write about it. Registration is required; email SMoCArsvp@sccarts.org. 

The next Mothers Who Write workshop begins September 2, 2010 in Scottsdale, and runs for 10 weeks.

If you are a mother, you definitely have stories to tell. Join other moms for a 10-week writing workshop that encourages you to hone your creativity and self-expression. Learn to write about your life experiences—the frustrations, fears, foibles, humor and joys of motherhood. The workshop is taught by Amy Silverman (Phoenix New Times) and Deborah Sussman Susser (Jewish News of Greater Phoenix). Fall course begins September 2; classes are from 6 to 8 pm. $175 members of SMoCA; $200 non-members. Registration begins July 1. Sign up early, as the class fills quickly.
